(Joplin, MO) – Downtown Joplin Alliance (DJA) welcomes the community to Downtown Waterfest! Come cool down with this month’s sponsor Abernathy Roofing & Construction, LLC with a dunk tank! Other water-themed activities at this year’s Downtown Waterfest include:
- Life jacket fittings and raffles from the Alliance of Southwest Missouri
- Redings Mill Fire Department will have rescue boats on display
- Local 59 and the Joplin Fire Department will be on hand with fire trucks and information about the upcoming Proposition Public Safety vote.
- Live music on the Club 609 stage.
- Live music from the Bonnie Situation on the 400 block.
- Over 20 food trucks.
- Vintage care cruise on the 100 block.
- Artisan market on the 500 block.
- Bounce house from Roller City Entertainment.
In addition to outdoor activities, check out some cool indoor activities:
- Live bands at Blackthorn Pizza & Pub, 510 S. Joplin, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm, for all ages.
- Dream Theater at 124 S. Main with a children’s production.
- Grand opening at The Boardroom Wine and Charcuterie Boutique, 106 S. Main Street.
- Barks and Brews at Chaos Brewing 112 S. Main Street.
- Axe-throwing at Main Street Axe Company, 215 S. Wall Street.
- Virtual reality game-play at Pennington Station, 518 S. Virginia.
- Dine-in at any of our fantastic downtown restaurants.
Dress cool and bring your water squirters out to join the fun! Lori Haun, executive director of the DJA, states, “This is a great month to bring the family out and let the kids enjoy the bounce houses, snow cones, and all the other kids’ activities put on by our vendors!”
