(Joplin, MO) – The Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization (JATSO) is seeking public comment for a seven-day period for an amendment to the 2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and an amendment to the FY 2021 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). The TIP contains transportation and transit projects in the Joplin Metropolitan Area that are partially funded by federal transportation programs over the next four-year period. The UPWP is a document that designates federal funds for JATSO Planning activities in the upcoming fiscal year.
The proposed TIP amendment revises one existing project and adds two new projects from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT). The proposed amendment can be viewed on the JATSO website at joplinmo.org/DocumentCenter/View/9093/TIP-amendment-5.
The proposed UPWP amendment adds two new work items to the Program Administration task: finishing the ADA sidewalk assessment that was delayed due to COVID-19 and an aerial photography update. These can be viewed on the JATSO website at joplinmo.org/DocumentCenter/View/9094/FY21-UPWP-Amendment-1.
The public comment period for both amendments begins at 8:00 am on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 and concludes at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
This public notice, public involvement activities, and time established for public review and comments on the TIP will satisfy the FTA Section 5307 Program of Projects requirements for Metro Area Public Transit System (MAPS).
