(Joplin, MO) – Crowder College’s Roughrider Softball team claimed the Region 16 championship by defeating number one seed, Jefferson in the Region 16 tournament. The 44-19 Roughrider will advance to the Midwest District tournament at the Iowa (Region 2) winner Iowa Western. The teams will square off Saturday, May 11 at 1:00 pm, with a second game at 3:00 pm. A third game will be held Sunday, May 12, noon, if needed. This is a best-of-three game series with the winner advancing to the National tournament in Choccolocco Park, Oxford, Alabama.
All-Region 16 players were named as follows:
- Arene Landon-Lane First Team – Infield
- Bailey Ast First Team – Infield
- Mazzi Jones First Team – Outfield
- Laynee Tapp Second Team – Outfield
