Crowder College’s Softball Team Wins Region, Advances to District Tournament

(Joplin, MO)Crowder College’s Roughrider Softball team claimed the Region 16 championship by defeating number one seed, Jefferson in the Region 16 tournament. The 44-19 Roughrider will advance to the Midwest District tournament at the Iowa (Region 2) winner Iowa Western. The teams will square off Saturday, May 11 at 1:00 pm, with a second game at 3:00 pm. A third game will be held Sunday, May 12, noon, if needed. This is a best-of-three game series with the winner advancing to the National tournament in Choccolocco Park, Oxford, Alabama.

All-Region 16 players were named as follows:

  • Arene Landon-Lane First Team – Infield
  • Bailey Ast First Team – Infield
  • Mazzi Jones First Team – Outfield
  • Laynee Tapp Second Team – Outfield
