(Joplin, MO) – Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) is excited to announce the launch of the Lion Pride Giving Challenge, kicking off February 26 and continuing until March 4.
Each athletic program at Missouri Southern is looking to challenge alumni and friends to meet program specific goals set by head coaches of each program. Information regarding each program’s goals can be found below. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to make a gift, follow the team on social media, and share this opportunity widely with your circles! The challenges are as follows:
Baseball Challenge
Raise $30,000 to assist with the fundraising for a new locker room to be located at Warren Turner Field.

Men’s Basketball Challenge
Raise $10,000 to enhance the student-athlete experience by meeting the travel, equipment, and nutritional needs of MSSU’s men’s basketball players and program.

Women’s Basketball Challenge
Raise $45,000 to enhance the student-athlete experience for a travel experience to play basketball in Puerto Rico. This trip will offer some of MSSU’s student athletes first-time experiences in travel.

Football Challenge
Raise $30,000 to enhance the football student-athlete experience. Funds raised will ensure MSSU football players have funds necessary for nutritional needs, the best gear and equipment, and to travel in a first-class manner.

Raise $10,000 to enhance the student-athlete experience by meeting the travel, and equipment needs of MSSU’s golfers and program.

Raise $20,000 to enhance the student-athlete experience by purchasing specialized running training equipment.
