(Joplin, MO) – Downtown Joplin Alliance will partner with Missouri American Water Company for the Downtown Waterfest during Third Thursday on July 16! Come enjoy an evening in downtown Joplin with more than 150 vendors, live music, and water features for you and your family to cool off in.
This season’s events are made possible thanks to KSN/KODE and JoplinRecycles.com: “From plastic bottles to metal cans, recycling in Joplin is easy. Get rolling—request your recycling cart today. Recycling benefits us all. Learn more here. Recycle. It’s how we roll.”
The evening’s events include:
- Live music from Analog Frogs, the Forget Me Nots, Eric & Erica French, Baylee’s Music Academy, and Andrew Pommert.
- A water truck from Missouri American Water Company parked on the 400 block so guests can stay hydrated. Plus, they’ll have games for kids, special rubber duckies, and an inflatable water spray arch to walk through. Puddles the Duck will also be in attendance!
- Many interactive water features for people and dogs to cool down in, including free splash pads and sprayers run by the Joplin Fire Department.
- The return of the Third Thursday Gathering, courtesy of Creative Car Audio (located at 7th Street and Main). Come show off your car, boat, motorcycle, ATV, or whatever your ride is! Come in on the back side of the store and staff will help you get parked. Even if you aren’t showing a vehicle, come down and check out the others.
- Patio and on-street dining all over Main Street, including at Vino Noir (530 S. Main Street) and Club 609 (609 S. Main Street).
- A vintage car cruise on the 100 block.
- An artisan market on the 500 block.
- More than 115 vendors, including more than 25 food and beverage options.
Lori Haun, executive director of the Downtown Joplin Alliance, states, “”Summertime is a great time to get outdoors and come downtown to visit with friends new and old, all while shopping with our great vendors and grabbing food from our terrific food trucks.”
Third Thursday is held from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month from March through October.
