  • A three-quarter sleeve All American Donor t-shirt

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is urging donors to fuel the blood supply before hitting the road. “Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, but it also signals the beginning of what we call trauma season,” said Michelle Teter, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks media relations representative. “Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, hospitals typically use more blood due to an increase in serious injuries, while donations often slow as people travel and adjust to summer schedules. Donating ahead of the holiday can make a critical difference in keeping a stable blood supply for our community.”

Appointments are recommended to help minimize potential wait times. Donors can schedule an appointment by clicking here or by calling 417.227.5006.

Photo identification is required. Please eat well and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating.
