Chamber Gives Back Scavenger Hunt Yields Outstanding Results on Giving Tuesday

(Joplin, MO)The Chamber Gives Back work group organized a nonprofit scavenger hunt for their November volunteer activity on Giving Tuesday. This is the fourth year for the group’s Giving Tuesday scavenger hunt, which brought together 33 volunteers from the business community to serve 12 Joplin nonprofits, resulting in a total of 71.25 service hours. The group helped these nonprofits through various means, including direct service, donations, and increased awareness for their causes.  

“The Giving Tuesday Chamber Gives Back Scavenger Hunt shows the power of collaboration and community engagement. We are proud of the enthusiasm and dedication shown by Chamber members, who continue to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others,” said Erin Slifka, Director of Marketing & Communications at the Joplin Chamber of Commerce. 

The Chamber Gives Back work group is an initiative lead by members of the Joplin Chamber and is responsible for coordinating monthly volunteer activities that benefit the Chamber’s nonprofit members. The work group is led by Misty Covey with Guaranty Bank and Jessica Carr with FORVIS 

Since April 1, individuals who participated in Chamber Gives Back volunteer activities have achieved a cumulative total of 291.75 service hours, underscoring the ongoing commitment of the local business community to create a positive and lasting impact in Joplin.
