(Joplin, MO) – In partnership with Connect2Culture, Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) will host the music group The Reminders for a writing workshop on campus at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 6, in the Corley Auditorium.
The Reminders seamlessly blend soulful sounds and roots music with insightful messages and thoughtful lyrics. With a unique mashup of razor-sharp rhymes, raw vocals, reggae-tinged hip-hop beats, and inspiring themes, these musicians present high-energy shows that uplift audiences and leave them wanting more.
The musical duo group will lead the workshop using writing exercises to explore the power of emotion, imagery, and personal experience in the generation of creative ideas, as well as figurative and sensory language to bring a life into writing. The event is free and open to the community.
There will also be a live perforce by The Reminders at 7:00 pm on Friday, April 7, in the Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex. Tickets for the live show are available for purchase here.
