Meet Nicki Lopez, Workplace Strategist for Grooms Office Environments! Although she’s only been a Chamber Ambassador for around three months, she’s been a dedicated and enthusiastic member of the Chamber for over a year. She brings a strong commitment to community, connection, and supporting the growth of local businesses. Get to know more about her Chamber experience in the Q&A below.
How long have you been a member of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce?
For 15 months.
How long have you been an Ambassador for the Joplin Chamber?
For three months.
Do you serve in any other capacities within the Chamber?
I participate in Leads Group 4 and I’m always attending Morning Brew. I’m also on the lookout for ways to support other Chamber events whenever possible.
What is your favorite Chamber event/program and why?
Good Morning Joplin and the Business EXPO are my favorites because they both bring so much energy and connection! Good Morning Joplin is a fun way to stay updated and network while EXPO really showcases the incredible variety of business we have in our community. Both events highlight the strength of our Chamber and make it easy to build relationships.
What is your favorite memory from serving as a Chamber Ambassador?
One of my favorite memories is always celebrating ribbon cuttings with new businesses. Standing beside them as they open their doors and begin their journey is very rewarding. It feels like you’re a part of their story. Those moments are full of excitement, and it is an honor to represent the Chamber and cheer them on!
What would your advice be to new members of the Chamber?
Get involved right away! Attend events, join a Leads Group, and do not be afraid to introduce yourself. The more you show up, the more you will get out of your membership. Building relationships through the Chamber has been one of the best investments of my time both professionally and personally.
Do you have anything else to add?
I am grateful to be part of an organization that truly believes in supporting local businesses and building community. Serving as an Ambassador has given me so many opportunities to grow, connect, and give back, and I look forward to continuing that work.
