(Joplin, MO) – The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, alongside its partners, is excited to present the BOLD (Building Opportunities for Leadership Development) Women’s Summit on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at James River Church in Joplin (1850 S. Maiden Lane).
This event is designed to cultivate leadership, connection, and confidence among women in the four-state area. The all-day, interactive summit will equip, uplift, and inspire attendees through powerful keynotes, meaningful networking, and high-impact breakout sessions that offer tangible takeaways while sparking both personal and professional growth.
“We are so excited for the return of BOLD!” says Neely Myers, BOLD planning committee member and emcee for the event. “This year’s Summit promises to build on last year’s momentum by offering female leaders strategies that will help them reach their full potential and allow them to leave feeling empowered, inspired, and bolder than ever before.”
Guests can expect to hear from inspiring keynote speakers as well as local change-makers. The keynotes include:
- Mitzi Starweather, an internationally awarded portrait pohtographer, who will discuss how to stop pleasing others and work on becoming a people-pleaser for yourself.
- Dr. Rachel (Oblon) Dennison, a returning keynote speaker with a PhD in Organizational Leadership who will explore what our friendships can teach us about leadership.
- Dr. Ashley Smith, who will speak about being courageously confident: the visionary approach to bold living and leading.
- Judy Smetana, Ph.D., a breakout speaker will be focusing on the inner skills that support courageous and authentic leadership.
The BOLD Women’s Summit kicks off with networking and breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 am. Vendors and nonprofit booths will be exhibiting in order to highlight the services they offer to women in the community.
