The Rotary Clubs of Joplin invite the community to celebrate International Sculpture Day on Saturday, April 26 with their second annual Sip and Stroll event, which will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Rotary Sculpture Garden in Mercy Park (2730 St. John’s Boulevard).
The event celebrates International Sculpture Day, which recognizes the creative work of sculptors worldwide, including Joplin! Some 16 sculptors have provided the works of art on display in the Garden.
In addition to the 31 bronze and stainless-steel sculptures there, the Rotary Sculpture Garden Board will provide:
- Coupons for a free ice cream item at Jack’s Ice Cream truck, which will be on site.
- A performance from Joplin High School’s Strolling Strings at 3:00 pm.
- Quick portraits by sketch artists Kim and Jesse.
- Light refreshments.
- Opportunities to chat with board members and discuss plans for the Garden and how you can help.
The public is encouraged to attend and consider becoming a Friend of the Garden to support and enhance the Sculpture Garden.
