The new year brings in new opportunities and hope for a better tomorrow, but it also marks the ten-year anniversary of Missouri Southern State University’s (MSSU) Dress to Impress event on Wednesday, February 26 in Billingsly Student Center’s Connor Ballroom.
Sponsored by MSSU’s Career Services office, the event allows students to expand their professional wardrobe, preparing them for the upcoming Spring Career Fair and succeed in every step of their careers.
“Dress to Impress is one of the largest student events on campus, averaging 300 students served each year since 2021,” said Alex Gandy, director of Career Services. “Students leave the event with handfuls of clothing, brimming with pride and excitement, knowing that they can walk into a job interview, an internship, or their first career with a wardrobe that reflects their style and talents.”
Career Services is seeking donations of professional clothing and accessories until Monday, February 24. Donations may be given in Hearnes Hall’s Room 308.
“I am incredibly thankful that Dress to Impress has reached this milestone,” said Gandy. “Dress to Impress will serve an average of 300 students and see over 100 volunteers. Our campus community has embraced Dress to Impress with enthusiasm and encourages students to attend, as it is so impactful to our student body. We simply could not facilitate it without the help of our campus and regional community. Our students greatly benefit from the event, and our campus sees and understands this direct impact.”
