Watered Gardens Ministries to Host Book Launch for ‘The Crisis of Dependency’ Authored by James Whitford on January 21

Millions in the U.S. are trapped in cycles of poverty due to well-meaning but misguided charitable models.

Watered Gardens Ministries has worked for decades with those struggling with homelessness and poverty and has come to understand that most people in poverty need a path to self-sufficiency, not material aid.

Learn how common efforts to solve poverty are trapping people in and what we as a community can do to foster freedom by joining Watered Gardens Ministries on Tuesday, January 21 at the Royale Cinema Lounge (715 E. Broadway in Joplin) at 3:00 pm for an important book launch.

Authored by Watered Gardens co-founder James Whitford, the book, titled The Crisis of Dependency, dives into how compassion often perpetuates eh very problems that we aim to solve and how handouts may offer temporary relief but deepen dependency.

During the event, James will read an excerpt, answer questions, sign books, and introduce the debut of a new documentary as well, called Resilience Rising. The film features the work of Watered Gardens Ministries, its subsidiary nation work through True Charity, and their collaboration with the Foundation for Government Accountability.
