(Diamond, MO) – George Washington Carver National Monument invites the community to join them in viewing the partial solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024. Beginning at 11:30 am, park rangers and volunteers will share fun and educational activities to accompany the viewing of the eclipse.
Learn about the science of an eclipse with hands-on activities, such as sundials and pinhole projectors. Junior Ranger Eclipse Explorer booklets and badges will be available too. To safely view an eclipse, your eyes must always be protected with solar eclipse glasses, which will be available while supplies last! The program is free of charge.
You can also become a citizen scientist by downloading NASA’s Globe Observer app. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, sunscreen, water, a snack, and be prepared to enjoy the eclipse from the front lawn. In case of inclement weather, this program will be canceled.
