(Joplin, MO) – Arvest Bank invites our community to help shred local hunger. Join Arvest for a free, contactless Shred-A-Thon to support the Arvest Million Meals campaign Saturday, April 9. This event is open to the public and will be held outside the Arvest branch located at 2023 E 32nd Street in Joplin from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Shredding will be provided at no charge, but monetary donations for Million Meals are encouraged. Every dollar raised through Million Meals provides the equivalent of five meals for local, hungry families. While Arvest is unable to accept food donations this year, monetary donations are appreciated.
In addition to the Shred-A-Thon, hot dogs, chips, and a drink will be available for purchase on-site during this event to raise funds to support the Million Meals campaign. Arvest invites the community to help associates and customers reach the goal of one million meals to fight local hunger.
The Shred-A-Thon allows you to bring personal and financial documents to be shredded and recycled. Discard unwanted paper and sensitive documents in a secure, convenient and contactless manner without leaving your vehicle. Arvest asks that all participating in the shredding event place boxes in your vehicle trunk and observe all signage and traffic direction. Arvest associates will be on-site to assist in welcoming all participants, directing the flow of traffic, offering bottled water and Arvest giveaways, accepting monetary donations, and unloading all items to be shredded from vehicle trunks.
All donations raised during the Shred-A-Thon event will go to support the Arvest Million Meals initiative, a local food drive campaign aimed to provide at least one million meals to those in need, benefiting eleven local food partners right here in Joplin and our surrounding four-state communities.
Area residents can support Million Meals through May 28 by making monetary donations at Arvest branches and drive-throughs in Joplin, Neosho, Monett, Carthage, Lockwood, Lamar, Nevada, Webb City, Miami, Ok, and Pittsburg, Ks or by calling 866.952.9523. Additionally, customers can donate via the Arvest Go mobile app and Arvest Flex Rewards™ credit cardholders can log in to arvestflexrewards.com to redeem and donate rewards points.
