(Joplin, MO) – Debi Koelkebeck, Executive Director of Jasper County CASA has been named a recipient of the John R. Albright Award at the 24th Annual Show-Me Service Awards, held at the Missouri State Capitol on April 21, 2026.
The Show-Me Service Awards, organized by ServMo, celebrate the extraordinary service and volunteerism of Missourians who strengthen communities and improve quality of life. The annual ceremony recognizes volunteers, community leaders, and AmeriCorps members who dedicate their time and talents to making a meaningful difference across the state.
Koelkebeck was selected for her exceptional leadership, vision, and commitment to child advocacy in Jasper County. A distinguished servant leader, she founded Jasper County CASA in 2018 in response to a critical gap in advocacy services for children in foster care.
Serving as the organization’s full-time, unpaid Executive Director, Koelkebeck built the program from the ground up. She led efforts to recruit and train volunteers, established strong partnerships within the court system, and developed the infrastructure necessary for long-term sustainability and growth.
Under her leadership, Jasper County CASA has grown from just eight founding volunteers to more than 100 trained advocates, now serving nearly 250 children each year. Her work has directly impacted hundreds of young lives, ensuring that children in the foster care system have a voice in the courtroom and a dedicated advocate working in their best interest.
Known for her humility and unwavering dedication, Koelkebeck exemplifies a service-first mindset, consistently prioritizing the needs of children above personal recognition or compensation. Her leadership has inspired broad community engagement, strengthened local child welfare efforts, and elevated the culture of volunteerism throughout the region.
In addition to this honor, Koelkebeck was previously recognized as Remarkable Woman of 2025, further highlighting her lasting impact and commitment to service.
The John R. Albright Award is presented to individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to volunteerism and community service, making Koelkebeck’s recognition a reflection of her profound and enduring contributions to Jasper County and the State of Missouri.
