(Joplin, MO) – Downtown Joplin Alliance invites the community to celebrate “Outdoors in the Ozarks” at May’s Third Thursday event on May 21, 2026. Join the community from 5:30 to 8:30 pm to celebrate all the beauty of the Ozarks in the summer!
This season’s events are made possible thanks to KSN/KODE and JoplinRecycles.com: “From plastic bottles to metal cans, recycling in Joplin is easy. Get rolling—request your recycling cart today. Recycling benefits us all. Learn more here. Recycle. It’s how we roll.”
The evening’s events are set to include:
- Live music from Heartland Opera, William Joseph Goodwin, Andrew Pommert, and special performances from Analog Frogs and Dance Monkey Dance on the 600 block.
- More than 130 vendors lining Main Street, including more than 25 food trucks and food booths.
- Special sales and deals exclusively for Third Thursday at the Boutique Marketplace Too (located at 613 S. Main).
- Vino Noir’s Wine Garden, located in front of 528 and 530 S. Main Street.
- A vintage car cruise and DJ on the 100 block, complete with trophies.
- An artisan market on the 500 block.
- Bounces houses and face painting for the kiddos.
Lori Haun, executive director of the Downtown Joplin Alliance, states, “May is Historic Preservation Month and National Bike Month, making May’s Third Thursday the perfect opportunity to get out of the car and slow your pace to enjoy our beautiful historic downtown and the surrounding Ozark scenery.”
Third Thursday is held from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month from March through October.
