Joplin High School’s (JHS) Constitution Team continues to set the standard for excellence in civic education!
At the Missouri Bar’s recent “Show Me the Constitution” State Competition, three JHS teams competed across all categories, demonstrating deep knowledge of the U.S. Constitution, American government, public policy, and Supreme Court ruins. Through mock Congressional hearings, students presented prepared testimony and responded to rigorous questioning, showcasing critical thinking, poise, and respectful civic discourse.
Their efforts paid off in a big way: the team earned First Place for the second consecutive year, further cementing its reputation as a statewide leader in constitutional studies and debate. This marks the program’s 8th state championship win under coach and JHS teacher William Keczkemethy.
Congratulations to team members Nicolas Brady, Jayden Camerer, Carly Dunn, Zoey Leow, Hayden Rueppel, Anie Spiering, Jacob Tatum, and Kendall Nyarango for this outstanding achievement.
