Economic Security Corporation of Southwest Area Seeking Volunteers for Community Action Ride System

The Economic Security Corporation of the Southwest Area (ESC) is excited to launch their Community Action Ride System (CARS) in May 2024! This new program will serve the ESC’s four-county service area in Barton, Jasper, Newton, and McDonald Counties by providing free transportation services driven by volunteer drivers.

To get CARS started, the ESC is seeking volunteer signups. Volunteer drivers are reimbursed for their mileage.  Help make an impact on your community and sign up here.

Economic Security Corporation of Southwest Area (ESC) is a private non-profit Community Action Agency, created in October 1965 to serve the needs of low-income individuals and families. The Vision: A thriving community of neighbors that is free from poverty.  The mission is to provide comprehensive services that instill hope and share opportunities to eliminate the conditions of poverty and help neighbors achieve self-sufficiency. Community work and direct services include utility assistance, homeless programs,  homeless employment opportunities, disaster funding, head start, early head start, employment and training, weatherization, and home repair.
