Freeman Neosho Hospital Providing Free Mammogram Screenings to the Public on April 5, 2024

(Joplin, MO) – The facts don’t lie — a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States every two minutes, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Early detection is the key to surviving a breast cancer diagnosis. The best way to do that is through regularly scheduled annual mammogram screenings, particularly for women with increased cancer risks.

The Helping Friends Mammogram Fund provides free mammogram screenings for uninsured and under-insured area women. Free screenings are held each year at Freeman Health Center’s Women’s Center in Joplin. For the first time ever, these screenings will take place Friday at Freeman Neosho Hospital campus (113 W. Hickory Street in Neosho) on Friday, April 5 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Since 2000, more than 2,000 women have had mammograms and diagnostic screenings thanks to the Helping Friends Fund.
