City of Joplin Closed, Council Meeting Shifts Due to Presidents’ Day Holiday

City of Joplin offices will be closed on Monday, February 19, in recognition of Presidents’ Day, and the Joplin City Council’s regular third Monday meeting in February will be moved to Tuesday, February 20. The rescheduled meeting will begin at 6:00 pm and will be held in the Council Chambers on fifth floor of City Hall, 602 South Main.

City Hall and other City services, including the Recycling Center and MAPS system, will be closed on President’s Day, February 19. Joplin City Hall and other City operations will reopen at their regular time on Tuesday, February 20.

Residential trash and curbside recycling services will not change due to this holiday.

KGCS-TV, Missouri Southern State University’s (MSSU) television station, will broadcast the meeting live on February 20, and will offer a re-broadcast at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, February 21.

KGCS-TV is a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University. Programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 21 and on regional cable television systems including Sparklight, Mediacom and Suddenlink.
