The Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization (JATSO) is seeking comments during a seven-day public comment period for amendments to the 2022–2025 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP contains transportation and transit projects in the Joplin Metropolitan Area that are partially funded by federal transportation programs over a four-year period.
The proposed TIP amendment included twenty-two (22) modified projects and four (4) new projects. The amendment has been requested by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT). The proposed amendment can be viewed on the JATSO website here.
The public comment period for this amendment originally began at 8 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024, and was to conclude at 12 noon on Monday, January 15, 2024; however, there has been an update so the comment period has been extended until 12 noon Thursday, January 18, 2023.
This public notice, public involvement activities, and time established for public review and comments on the TIP will satisfy the FTA Section 5307 Program of Projects requirements for the Metro Area Public Transit System (MAPS).
