(Joplin, MO) – The Creative Learning Alliance (CLA) is excited to announce that due to a very generous grant from Lozier, there will be no cost for monthly playshops from September 2023 to August 2024! The Lozier Community Fund Grant program awarded CLA $4,800 to help meet our mission of engaging people of all ages in hands-on, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) based learning driven by curiosity and play.
CLA Executive Director Neely Myers said “We are so grateful for Lozier’s generous gift to the families who want to attend our programming. Our goal has always been, and remains, to provide access to all people. STEAM is for everyone and this grant allows access without financial burden. With this gift, families can attend programs and watch their children learn to love math, dream of becoming a graphic artist, or even find out that they have a previously untapped passion for engineering.”
Past programming has included a launch party with NASA for the Artemis 1 rocket, Lego robotics camp, severe weather, women and girls in science, local critters, explosions, and so much more. Upcoming programming includes Sports in STEAM in September, Mad Science in October, and a gingerbread engineering challenge in November.
