George Washington Carver National Monument Announces Park Prescription Day

(Diamond, MO)George Washington Carver National Monument presents Park Prescription Day on Saturday, April 15 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The public is invited to get their dose of nature during this fun day of free activities! Guided and self guided activities will be set up across the park grounds. Guests can choose from the following activities:

Walk With A Doc

10:00 am | With Dr. Rob McNab of McNab Wellness

Get your heart pumping and talk with Dr. Rob McNab as you walk the trails around the park.

Zumba

10:30 am  to 12:00 pm | With Zumba by Whitney

Build strength and increase flexibility as you get moving to Zumba with Zumba by Whitney!

Nutrition by Bonnie

10:00 am  to 1:00 pm | With Nutrition by Bonnie

Join nutritional health coach Bonnie Chastain and learn how to cultivate a healthier lifestyle.

Poetry at the Pond

10:00 am  to 1:00 pm 

Meditate on the serene atmosphere while you write poetry responses in celebration of National Poetry Month.

Chalk Walk

10:00 am  to 1:00 pm 

Use George Washington Carver’s quotes as inspiration to spark creativity during the chalk walk!

Join us for this special day that is celebrated across the United States and internationally to promote the growing movement of health care providers referring their patients to parks to improve their health and well being. Park Prescription Day is free of charge, so everyone can get out and enjoy the health benefits of the great outdoors! In the event of inclement weather, activities will be moved indoors.
