City Offices Closed and Council Meeting Shift Due to Presidents’ Day

(Joplin, MO) – In recognition of Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 20, City of Joplin offices will be closed, and the Joplin City Council’s regular third Monday meeting in February will be moved to Tuesday, February 21.  The rescheduled meeting will begin at 6 pm and will be held in the Council Chambers on 5th floor of City Hall, 602 South Main.

City Hall and other City services, including the Recycling Center and MAPS system, will be closed on President’s Day, February 20. Joplin City Hall and other City operations will reopen at their regular time on Tuesday, February 21. Residential trash service and curbside recycling will not change due to this holiday.

KGCS-TV, Missouri Southern State University’s (MSSU) television station, will broadcast the meeting live on February 21, and will offer a re-broadcast at 6 pm on Wednesday, February 22. KGCS-TV is a service of the Department of Communication at MSSU. Programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 21 and on regional cable television systems including Sparklight, Mediacom, and Suddenlink.
