(Joplin, MO) – The Joplin Sports Authority (JSA), in partnership with Twin Hills Golf & Country Club, hosted the 2022 NJCAA DII Men’s National Championship from Tuesday, May 17 to Friday, May 20 at Twin Hills golf course. Twin Hills and JSA were awarded the 2020 Championship but had to reschedule to host the 2022 tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2022 tournament field included:
- The defending NJCAA DII champions and third-ranked, Parkland College
- The current, number one-ranked and 2021 NJCAA DII Men’s Golf Fall Preview champion, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
- Second-ranked 2019 NJCAA DII Men’s Golf Fall Preview champion, Kirkwood (Iowa) Community College.
- Fifth-ranked Tyler (Texas) Junior College.
Joining these four teams were the sixth-ranked Heartland Community College (Norman, Illinois), seventh-ranked Meridian Community College (Mississippi), eighth-ranked Walters State Community College (Tennessee), tenth-ranked Northeast Community College (Nebraska), thirteenth-ranked Hawkeye Community College (Iowa), fourteenth-ranked Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College (Georgia), fifteenth-ranked Cleveland State Community College (Tennessee), twenty-first-ranked Grand Rapids Community College (Michigan), twenty-third-ranked Illinois Valley Community College, twenty-seventh-ranked Mineral Area College (Missouri), Black Hawk Community College, Bryant and Stratton College (Wisconsin), Glendale Community College (Arizona), South Mountain Community College (Arizona), Oakland Community College (Michigan), and Muskegon Community College (Michigan).
Twenty schools represented by 28 individuals from eight districts were present.
Teams arrived in town on Saturday, May 14 with the first of two practice days starting the following day. Tee times for the four rounds (Tuesday to Friday) started at 7:00 am and were posted on golfstat.com, and are available in the pro shop at Twin Hills.
