Governor Parson to Hold Higher Education and Workforce Roundtable in Joplin

This week, Governor Mike Parson will participate in meetings at the State Capitol and attend various meetings and events across the state, including roundtable discussions in Kansas City, Springfield, Joplin, and Columbia to share his proposed investments in workforce and higher education and hear from local education, business, and community leaders.

On Sunday, February 6, Governor Parson will attend the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony in Springfield where Forrest Lucas will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2022.

On Wednesday, February 9, Governor Parson will present a proclamation for Career and Technical Education Month in February and participate in the capstone presentations and graduation ceremony for the Missouri Leadership Academy Class 7.

Governor Parson will also travel to Kansas City to hold a workforce and higher education roundtable discussion with representatives from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, Metropolitan Community College, and area leaders. Following the roundtable, Governor Parson will tour Metropolitan Community College’s new Advanced Technical Skills Institute.

On Thursday, February 10, Governor Parson will hold a workforce and higher education roundtable discussion with representatives from Missouri State University, Ozarks Technical Community College, and area leaders in Springfield. He will then travel to Joplin to hold another workforce and higher education roundtable discussion with representatives from Missouri Southern State University, Crowder College, and area leaders.

On Friday, February 11, Governor Parson will speak at the Missouri Association of County Commissioners Annual Training event and hold a workforce and higher education roundtable discussion with leaders from the Columbia community, the University of Missouri–Columbia, Moberly Area Community College, and Lincoln University. Following the roundtable, Governor Parson will briefly tour the Roy Blunt NextGen Precision Health Institute.
