Wildcat Glades Friends Group Releases January Program List

(Joplin, MO) – This January, the Wildcat Glades Friends Group along with other partners, will be hosting a guided hike, a hands-on preschool connections program and a nature explorers event.

First Day Hike free class

January 1 | 8:30 am | Wildcat Glades Education Cottage

Start the year off right, in nature. Meet us inside the brand new Wildcat Glades Education Cottage, then join us on a guided hike on the trail through the park. Registration is required. SNOWflakes Free Class: Nature Explorers ages 7-12

January 16 | 1:00 pm | Wildcat Glades Village

Winter is an amazing time of the year! If you are lucky, and the conditions are right, you might get to see something amazing fall from the sky, SNOW! Snow isn’t just for sledding, snowball fights, and building jolly friends; snow is an important part of nature. Join us to learn about how snow is created and what it does for nature. Eagles of Missouri (sponsored by Calvin Cassady) Free Class: Preschool connections

January 20 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am and January 23 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm | Wildcat Education Cottage.

Is that a hawk, a vulture, or an eagle? I think it is our national emblem! Come and learn about eagles and other raptor birds. This time of year we are lucky to see eagles in our area. Virtual 5K:

Run! Walk! Jog! At your own pace, on your own time. Get outside or hit the treadmill to participate in the Wildcat Glades virtual 5K. There are options for a finisher’s medal, race bib, and t-shirt with this event and they are available for local pick-up or shipping inside the U.S. Registration is open for the foreseeable future and is available via our Facebook page or at wildcatglades.org.
