Joplin High School Teacher Named Outstanding District Director

(Joplin, MO) – Recently, the Missouri Choral Directors Association named Monica Reynolds the Outstanding District Director for the Southwest District. Each year, this award is nominated and voted on by the colleagues within the district.

There are eleven districts total in Missouri. All choral directors in the Southwest District (public school, private school, and college/university) are eligible for the award. The nomination process allows a director from the district to nominate another director and then all the directors vote and select the director they feel deserves the award.

The last time a Joplin Schools director received this award was in 2009 when Susan Ideker was awarded this honor. Normally, Reynolds would be presented with a plaque at the Missouri American Choral Directors Association conference in July, but that was not possible due to COVID-related concerns.
