Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) and the City of Joplin will once again partner for Joplin’s Independence Day celebration this year!
The 2026 Joplin Independence Day Celebration will kick off at 5:30 pm on Saturday, July 4 at Fred G. Hughes Stadium, located on the campus of MSSU.
This spectacular event honoring the 250th birthday of our nation will feature live music, food trucks, bounce houses, and the area’s best fireworks show. Live music will begin at 7:00 pm with entertainment provided by Sound the Alarm, a 2000s rock-and-roll cover band from Springfield. The show will run through the start of the fireworks display, which will begin at approximately 9:45 pm.
Free parking is located in and around the stadium. And as always, the show is free for the community.
Please note that no personal fireworks, pets, grills, or alcohol will be permitted.
