(Joplin, MO) – This June, the Wildcat Glades Friends Group, along with other partners, will be hosting a hands-on preschool connections program, kids and adult yoga classes, a nature explorers event, and much more!
Hiking Basics
June 5 | 3:00 pm | Ages 7 to 12 | Free class
Hiking is a great way to get outside and explore the world around you. This class will feature discussions on how to prepare for a hike, as well as what to do on the trail. We will start at Wildcat Pavilion near Shoal Creek with a lesson, then hit the trail for a class-on-the-go. We will complete the entire four-mile trail, which includes the bluff section so please remember this when bringing smaller siblings. Please bring a water bottle, sturdy shoes, and weather appropriate clothing.

Yoga in Nature for Adults
June 12 | 8:30 am to 9:30 am | For ages 16+ | $10 to attend
Led by Amanda, a registered yoga teacher, this class is designed to incorporate elements of nature, breathing, and yoga poses. Bring your yoga mat or a towel and a reusable water bottle. This is a great opportunity to help anyone who might be experiencing a little angst from being cooped up this winter. Please sign up by following the instructions on our Facebook page. Water Works: Conservation in the Parks
June 19 | 1:00 pm | For ages 7 to 12 | Free class in partnership with Wildcat Gales, Missouri Department of Conservation, and the City of Joplin
Join Joplin Parks and Recreation, the Missouri Department of Conservation, and the Wildcat Glades Friends Group for our Conservation in the Parks partnership program. Come to the south gate area of Landreth Park to explore Joplin’s creek and learn about the importance of water. Dive in with us as we test stream quality, learn about the water cycle, and discover how water affects the parks in your backyard. Please wear clothes and shoes you can get wet in and bring drinking water and your thinking caps!

Wild Babies
