Nurses are at the heart of healthcare, and Freeman Health System Auxiliary is supporting the local schools that prepare nurses for their careers. Auxiliary truly values education and specifically the training for nurses.

On Friday, April 2, Freeman Auxiliary hosted area nursing schools for a luncheon and check presentation. The donations are given each year to Crowder College, Northeastern Oklahoma College (NEO), Missouri Southern State University, Pittsburg State University, Labette County Community College, Carthage Technical School, and Franklin Technology Center.

Each school will receive a $2,000 check to use in their nursing programs. Donations have previously been used to purchase equipment for hands-on instruction and may also be used for student scholarships.

Each year, Freeman volunteers raise money for the Auxiliary through Freeman Gift Galleries, raffles, sales, and various events. Freeman Auxiliary also supports the purchase of hospital equipment, services, scholarships, and community needs.
