(Joplin, MO) – On Monday, October 12, 2020, the Joplin City Council approved the Freeman Joplin Memorial Run (JMR) to move forward with its rescheduled race date of Saturday, December 12, 2020. The race, originally scheduled for May 16, was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to the Council’s approval, JMR is also moving forward with approval from both the Joplin Health Department and Freeman Health System.
JMR Race Director Ruth Sawkins has produced two events during the pandemic, utilizing CDC recommended practices and procedures, and will soon be releasing the full COVID modifications plan for JMR under guidance of the Joplin Health Department and Freeman Health System.

The 2020 Freeman Joplin Memorial Run will take place on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12, 2020. The Freeman Joplin Memorial Run is a project of Active Lifestyle Events, Inc. and is produced by Rufus Racing.
