Football season is in full swing, and donors have a chance to make a lifesaving play. By donating blood in November or December at any Community Blood Center of the Ozarks donor center or mobile blood drive, donors will receive a long-sleeve Kansas City Chiefs T-shirt, while supplies last.
Donors will be automatically entered for a chance to win a tailgate prize package valued at more than $1,400, featuring a $250 Walmart gift card, YETI cooler, Blackstone tabletop grill and Chiefs merchandise.
Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood, platelets and plasma to patients at more than 40 area hospitals, is teaming up with the Kansas City Chiefs to encourage fans to make an impact beyond the football field.
CBCO serves hospitals across 41 counties in southwest Missouri, northwest Arkansas and southeast Kansas and relies on approximately 200 blood donations each day to meet the needs of local patients. One donation can help save up to three lives, making every donor an important part of the region’s health care system.
“Every blood donation is an opportunity to step up for someone in our community who may need a transfusion,” said Michelle Teter, Media Relations Representative at Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. “The Chiefs promotion gives donors a fun way to go the extra yard this season, but the real impact is knowing your donation could be there when a local patient needs it. We hope football fans and community members will join us and make an important play for local patients.”
Donors can give blood at any CBCO mobile blood drive or at one of four CBCO donor centers in Joplin and Springfield, Missouri, and Springdale and Bentonville, Arkansas.
Appointments are strongly encouraged to help avoid wait times. For more information or to schedule an appointment at a donor center or mobile blood drive near you, click here, or call 417-227-5006.
On behalf of local hospital patients, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks thanks blood donors from across the region for giving life to your community.
