(Joplin, MO) – Wearing traditional caps and gowns, nearly 20 students at Freeman Health System’s Freeman Learning Center will receive their graduating diplomas on Friday, July 17.

This is the Center’s fifth graduating class, and its largest with 19 children. Fourteen of the 19 children have been at the Center since they were babies or one-year-olds, according to Learn Center Director Joshua Sharp.

Freeman Health System President and Chief Executive Officer Matt Fry will hand each child his or her diploma as they cross the stage, and the students themselves will sing two songs during the ceremony.

The Learning Center opened in April 2020 and is available to children between six weeks and six years old. It offers structured play that engages children to help them grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. Educational continuity is seamlessly provided from one age group to the next, as students move from the baby room to the one-year-old room and all the way up to the five-year-old room.

The graduates will be ready to start their first day of kindergarten in the fall.
