Crowder College Recognizes 2026 Employees of the Year

(Neosho, MO)Crowder College held its annual end-of-year celebration on May 8, 2026, and honored its employees. In addition to the awards listed below, employees were also recognized for milestones achieve in years of service and those retiring. College staff from all locations were provided with lunch and opportunities to win prizes via the Human Resources Office.

Traditionally, the college takes nomination for three awards throughout the year, which are:

  • Classified Staff
  • Professional Staff
  • Teacher of the Year

This year’s recipients include:

Classified Staff

Megan Lawson, Senior Administrative Assistant in the Academic Affairs office. Lawson has been employed by the college for five years.

Professional Staff

Henri Whitehead, Academic Success & Testing Specialist. Whitehead has been employed at Crowder for three years.

Faculty of the Year

Greg Murdock, Business Instructor. Murdock has been employed by the college for seven years.

Value Awards

In recent years, the addition of awards for Exemplifying Our Values have been implemented. This year’s Value Awards were presented to:

  • We are passionate about making a difference. — Awarded to Shally Lundien, Director of Admissions
  • We care about one another. — Heather Flint, Transfer and Career Advisor
  • We cultivate curiosity and innovation. — Jenna Boatright, Admissions Programming Coordinator
  • We learn from our mistakes. — Colleen Holland, Bookstore Director
  • We respect diverse perspectives. — Elizabeth Armstrong, Executive Assistant to the President

About Crowder College: 

Crowder College was established in April 1963, as the voters of Newton and McDonald counties passed the issue to create a community college (formerly junior college) on the land formerly known as Camp Crowder. Today, the college provides services to a nine-county service region in southwest Missouri with locations in Neosho, Cassville, Joplin, McDonald County, Nevada, and Webb City. The student population exists from within the four-state region, and around the globe. With over 80 degree and program options, the college is a great place to train for a career or transfer to a university.
