Joplin Schools’ Parents as Teachers Announce Dates for Spring 2026 Activities

Joplin Schools‘ Parents as Teachers (PAT) is excited to announce their upcoming spring events and programs!

Joplin’s Parents as Teachers is a 12-month program, and they work year round to better serve families! They have several programs getting ready to start as the school year winds down. Learn more about each of them below.

PAT Spring Advisory Board

Friday, April 24 | 9:00 am | Virtual event hosted on Google Meet

Preschool Screenings for 2026–2027 School Year

Scheduled individually | Enrollment interest form must be completed

If you have a child who will be three or four years old before August 1, 2026, they may be eligible for free preschool at Joplin Early Childhood (JEC) or in a Little Eagles Flight School classroom. Enrollment spaces are very limited, so parents should complete the interest form and scheduling a screening as soon as possible. Here’s how:

2. Watch your email to schedule a preschool screening

Spots in preschool programs are very limited and are not guaranteed. Current JEC students must complete the Enrollment Interest Form as well, but they do not need to schedule a screening.

Kindergarten Readiness Visits

Make sure they start strong and schedule a free in-home Kindergarten Readiness Visit with PAT! This free visit helps children build the developmental and social-emotional skills they need to succeed.
