(Joplin, MO) – Freeman Health System has completed the purchase of the Thousand Oaks building located at 1905 W. 32nd Street in Joplin, Missouri, as part of our ongoing commitment to expanding access to high‑quality healthcare services in the communities we serve. The acquisition officially closed on Tuesday, December 20, 2025.
The 85,448‑square‑foot facility is intended to support future outpatient care and diagnostic services, helping bring care closer to patients and easing access to essential healthcare services in the region. As healthcare continues to shift toward outpatient and ambulatory settings, facilities like this allow us to better meet patients where they are.
Freeman Health System recognizes that there are current tenants operating within the building, and we are committed to working collaboratively with those tenants as we move forward. Our approach will be thoughtful, transparent, and respectful as plans evolve.
Over time, Freeman anticipates updating and renovating the facility, with improvements expected to take approximately eight months to one year once renovation work begins. Any enhancements will be focused on ensuring the space is modern, efficient, and well‑suited for outpatient services while maintaining continuity for those currently utilizing the building.
“This acquisition reflects our ongoing investment in the future of healthcare in our region,” said Alex Curran, Chief Strategy Officer for Freeman Health System. “By expanding outpatient and diagnostic capacity, we can continue to improve access and convenience for our patients while thoughtfully planning for the long‑term needs of our communities.”
Additional details regarding specific services and timelines will be shared when plans are finalized.
