Wildcat Glades Nature Group Releases Their February 2026 Program List

(Joplin, MO) – This month, the Wildcat Glades Nature Group along with other partners, will be hosting a Preschool Connections class, a special event focused on debunking myths about snakes, and a Nature Explorers program.

Preschool Connections: Pine Cone’s Secret

Wednesday, February 11 @ 10:00 am | Saturday, January 14 @ 1:00 pm | Ages three to seven, accompanied by an adult | Wildcat Glades Education Cottage | Sponsored by Calvin Cassidy

Join Wildcat Glades for “Pine Cone’s Secret,” a fun and engaging preschool class where children will discover the wonders of pine cones through an interactive story and a hands-on craft activity. The kiddos will listen to a delightful tale about a little pine cone’s journey in the forest, meeting animal friends, and learning how pine cones help new trees grow. Afterward, participants will create their own pinecone craft to take home, encouraging creativity and exploration of nature.

Nature Explorers: Clever Corvids — Discovering the World of Crows

Thursday, February 19 | 6:00 pm | Ages seven to 14 | Wildcat Glades Education Cottage | Free event

Join the Wildcat Glades team for a lively Nature Explorers class all about crows!

Participants will learn fascinating facts about these clever birds, including about their intelligence, social behaviors, and their role in the ecosystem. The session features interactive activities such as a crow-themed game show and a fun “crow calls” game, where kids and adults can try mimicking crow sounds. Kiddos can also expect to dive into a creative craft, making their own crow-inspired artwork to take home. This educational and entertaining class is designed to spark curiosity and appreciation for one of nature’s most resourceful birds!

New Year, No Fear! Snake Perceptions

Monday, February 23 | 6:00 pm | Ages 15+ | Wildcat Glades Education Cottage | Free event

Worried about snakes during outdoor activities?

Join the Wildcat Glades team as they debunk myths, learn why snakes matter to the ecosystem, and overcome your fear. Presenter Cameron Kruse will share insights and examples to help participants better understand these creatures.

This is a free event and there’s no need to register in order to attend.
