Todd Chenault and the team at Steve’s Frame & Body, a collision repair center in Joplin, have made major investments in advanced equipment to better serve their customers and keep pace with the evolving automotive industry.
The shop recently installed a double-wide paint booth with 12-foot high doors, enabling them to efficiently refinish larger vehicles, including high-top vans. The booth allows technicians to paint damaged vehicle parts—including those destined for different vehicles and colors—then apply a clear top coat in a single bake cycle, improving both efficiency and quality.
In addition, recognizing the rise of electric vehicles (EVs), Steve’s Frame & Body has upgraded one of its two frame racks to accommodate the increased weight of EVs, which often range from 6,000 to 9,000 pounds. The new rack offers a 10,000-pound lifting capacity, allowing the team to perform safe and accurate structural repairs on electric models.
Chenault also highlighted the importance of diagnostic scanning, noting that all vehicles from 2012 onward are scanned both before and after repairs to ensure all safety systems function properly.
“Technology is constantly changing, and we’re committed to keeping up with the training and equipment needed to make proper and safe repairs,” said Chenault.
