(Joplin, MO) – Sebastian Green will customize his very own Blizzard®, Dairy Queen’s iconic ice-cold summer treat, during a preview of the annual Miracle Treat Day on July 31.
“We are grateful for the partnership we have with Dairy Queen here at Freeman Health System,” said Laura Gullett, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Program Coordinator. “Their continued support allows us to change a child’s future in a very good way.”
On Thursday, July 31, $1 from every Dairy Queen Blizzard® purchase will be donated to Freeman Health System, a member hospital of Children Miracle Network Hospitals. These donations provide vital funding for life-saving treatments and essential services for children in need.
Green was diagnosed with Autism in 2021 at less than 3 years of age. When the Granby, Missouri native was diagnosed, he started having seizures and was in the ninetieth percentile for height and weight, which required him to have a specialty car seat that Children’s Miracle Network provided, said Izzy Medrano, Freeman’s Family Relations & Development Coordinator.
“Since then, he has made a lot of progress with his behavior and communication,” she said. “Children’s Miracle Network has also assisted with travel to specialty appointments, a seizure monitor, and a cubby bed to ensure Sebastian is safe while sleeping.”
