Doctors have stated that administering CPR outside the hospital can save thousands of lives annually, but about half of Americans say they don’t know how to do it. To help area residents, CPR training is now available through the Joplin Health Department.
The Health Department will be hosting two trainings on Wednesday, July 30, which include:
- Friends and Family® CPR is a great class for new parents, grandparents, babysitters, and others. (Held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on July 30.)
- AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED course trains participants to give CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. (held from 1:30 to 4:30 pm on July 30.)
Both classes will be held at the Joplin Health Department inside the WIC Classroom (321 E. 4th Street). Prepayment and registration are required. Please register here.
