Lafayette House is proud to announce the receipt of a $7,475 FY25 Urgent Needs Grant from Ozark Food Harvest to purchase a new commercial-grade freezer that will significantly enhance the organization’s ability to serve nutrition meals to families in crisis throughout southwest Missouri.
The grant funded the purchase and deliver of a True Manufacturing two-door commercial freezer, which will directly support Lafayette House’s mission to provide comprehensive services to individuals and families experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, or substance use disorders. The new equipment will help Lafayette House continue to serve approximately 17,000 meals annually to clients and their children.
“This critical infrastructure investment significantly enhances our capacity to nourish the families we serve,” said Jessica Eley, Kitchen Manager at Lafayette House. “As one of six freezers essential to our comprehensive food service operations, this equipment enables us to maintain the highest standards of food safety and meal planning while ensuring consistent access to nutritious meals for our most vulnerable community members. Ozark Food Harvest’s support empowers us to transform not just our kitchen capabilities, but ultimately the recovery journey of every family who finds refuge and healing at Lafayette House.”
The commercial freezer addresses a vital infrastructure need for Lafayette House, which serves more than 900 people annually across Southwest Missouri. Proper food storage is essential for maintaining the quality and safety of meals provided to clients who are often dealing with trauma and working toward recovery and stability.
“Ozark Food Harvest’s generous support demonstrates the power of community partnership in addressing the complex needs of vulnerable families,” said Eli Moran, Chief Strategy Officer at Lafayette House. “This grant doesn’t just provide us with equipment, it provides our clients with dignity, nutrition, and one less worry during their healing journey. When families know they can count on nutritious meals, they can focus their energy on recovery, rebuilding, and creating safer futures.”
The FY25 Urgent Needs Grant program reflects Ozark Food Harvest’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of organizations working to address food insecurity and support vulnerable populations throughout the region. This partnership enables Lafayette House to maintain its comprehensive approach to family wellness while ensuring that basic nutritional needs are consistently met.
Lafayette House extends its deepest gratitude to Ozark Food Harvest, its Board of Directors, and the generous donors who make such impactful grants possible. This investment in essential infrastructure will benefit hundreds of families for years to come.
