(Joplin, MO) – Joplin Schools is pleased to announce the promotion of Leslie Coleman as the next assistant principal at Irving Elementary School.
Coleman currently serves as a Special Education teacher and substitute principal at East Middle School. She has serves as the Middle School Special Education Team Lead for the Joplin school district. And she previously taught at Seneca Junior High, New Heights Christian Academy, Spart Junior High, and Sparta High School.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Mid-America Nazarene University, Coleman went on to earn a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Evangel University followed by an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
She will succeed Tylan Harris as Irving’s assistant principal, who recently accepted a position as the head principal of Eastmorland Elementary School.
“The Irving Team is very excited to welcome Mrs. Leslie Coleman as our new Assistant Principal,” said Irving Principal Jordan Adkins. “We are looking forward to her leadership and contributions to serve our Irving students, staff, and families.”
“I’m excited to step into this new role and continue supporting our students, staff, and families in a greater capacity,” said Coleman.
