(Joplin, MO) – Join the fun this Saturday, September 21 as the Joplin Empire Market celebrates Hobbit Day and the birthdays of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins!
Here’s some of the fun that you can expect:
- Multiple Hobbit House photo opportunities
- A Lord of the Rings-themed story quote walk
- Crafts for kids and adults alike
- A Hobbit scavenger hunt
- Lots of special food and merchandise from the market vendors
- Opportunities to meet some of your favorite Hobbit characters
Market attendees are encouraged to dress up in their best Hobbit (or other fantasy) clothes, as if you’re attending an eleventy-first birthday party and be ready for some fun!
Visitors can shop all three market halls with fresh produce, pastured meat, artisan goods, coffee, and ready-to-eat food all available.
Lori Haun, Executive Director of Downtown Joplin Alliance says, “Hobbits love food. Hobbits love gardening. So it just makes sense that the Empire Market would be a perfect place for Hobbits!”
There is no charge for entry into the event. The Market is open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm each Saturday.
