Downtown Joplin Alliance and General Mills/Blue Buffalo will once again partner for the Dog Days of Summer during Third Thursday on August 15! Come enjoy an evening in downtown Joplin with over 125 vendors, live music, and fun activities.
The evening’s events include:
- Visit the event’s sponsors, General Mills/Blue Buffalo, on the 400 block for their Coolest Pup contest, free doggie ice cream; face painting, water activities, an agility course from Tri-State Kennel Club, a beautiful decorated photo booth by Hip Hip Array, the Joplin Roadrunners, and lots of giveaways and freebies! Also, they are bringing back the foam cannons, so come have lots of sudsy fun, but dress accordingly!
- Live music all night from Crashout, Mandi Lake, and the Jason Kinney Band.
- Join The Creative Learning Alliance at the Exploreum at 300 S. Main for pet-themed STEAM activities at their STEAMagination Exploration at Third Thursday event! This event is supported by Joplin Regional Foundation’s Philanthropic Society.
- A ribbon cutting at Downtown Downtime next to 530 Somewhere at 4:30 pm.
- Visit Downtown Downtime at 530 S. Main Street and meet Bruce, the cutest doggie! Get a free dog bandana and a drink. Christine’s Vineyard will be set up right outside with adult slushies and water stations for dogs. Artisan vendors will also be inside and will be offering permanent jewelry and build-your-own trucker hats! Bring your dogs in to take a photo at the photo booth to get a free drink chip!
- Midwest Regional Ballet Performing Arts Company & School will be performing a variety of dances at 7:00 pm at 6th and Main Street.
- Patio and on-street dining throughout the event.
- Vintage car cruise on the 100 block.
- Artisan market on the 500 block.
- More than 125 vendors, including over 20 food and beverage options.

Third Thursday is held from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month from March through October. Thanks to our Third Thursday Title Sponsors, KSNF-TV/KODE-TV, Zimmer Marketing, and Verts Neighborhood Dispensary for making this event possible.
