Dairy Queen to Support Children’s Miracle Network with Miracle Treat Day on July 25

An iconic ice-cold summer treat will once again serve as a catalyst to help children receive the best medical care possible thanks to an ongoing partnership between Dairy Queen® and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Joplin’s Vincent Wilkowski, 8, will participate in a fun ritual in which he’ll make his very own Blizzard frozen treat, which is so thick it can be turned upside down without spilling.

Two days later, on Thursday, July 25, $1 or more from every purchased Blizzard from the Joplin location and other local restaurants will be donated to Freeman Health System, a member hospital of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since Freeman’s partnership with Dairy Queen launched in 2004, local DQ stores have raised $149,023. Last year, $5,988 was raised.

Freeman is one of 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals found nationwide. One-hundred percent of all profits raised benefits local children and families in need, receiving assistance for those with medical needs, such as prescriptions, medical equipment, and specialty care. Funds are also raised throughout the year to support Freeman pediatricians and departments, including Freeman’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism.
