(Joplin, MO) – Joplin Empire Market is excited to announce that May 4, 2024, will be a May the Fourth Be With You special event at the market!
Join them during normal market hours from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The first fifty attendees who come dressed in Star Wars-themed costumes will receive a free pothos plant, grown by the Empire’s own master gardeners (no dark side powers used).
Younglings can visit the Community Gardens to indulge in radio-controlled podracing and a hyperspace-themed photobooth will be available inside the building. Face-painting will be available for those wishing to blend in with the crowd in the cantina and there will be a craft station manned by a group from South Middle School.
Enjoy specialty-themed cookies from Coley’s Cookie Co. and Aunt Tracy’s Cookies and grab lunch from The Swanky Frank.
Visitors can shop all three market halls with fresh produce, pastured meat, artisan goods, coffee from Cottage Small Coffee Roasters, lemonade and mocktails from Potions & Brews, fried pies, and ready-to-eat food all available. Cinnamon rolls from Farmhouse Bakery are delicious and make for an easy hair style, too. It’s also the perfect place to find a unique Mother’s Day gift, whether she’s a fantasy lover or not!
