General Mills Foundation Renews Support for Mercy Cancer Center Patients

(Joplin, MO)Mercy Health Foundation hosted a check presentation on Thursday, April 4, 2024, to celebrate a generous gift from General Mills Foundation Hometown Grantmaking Program. The $10,000 grant will benefit patients at Mercy Cancer Center.

Since 2019, Mercy Health Foundation has received more than $37,000 in support from General Mills Foundation.

This generous gift will contribute directly to enhancing the resources and services available at the Mercy Cancer Center. Transportation assistance plays a crucial role in ensuring access to cancer treatment services. Adequate nutrition is vital for patients to endure the physical and emotional challenges of treatment, maintain strength, and support the healing process.

“General Mills has once again demonstrated its commitment to making a positive impact on the well-being of communities,” said Whit Sanders, Director of Radiation Oncology. “This generous gift from General Mills will have a direct and positive impact on the lives of those facing the hardships of cancer, providing them with the nutrition they need when navigating their treatment journey.”
